International Recruiting at avitea
International specialists are in demand: This is why recruiting from abroad is worthwhile
The number of skilled workers in Germany continues to shrink. At the same time, numerous apprenticeship positions are not filled because there are no candidates (AmPnBsP) on the market. According to a study by the Institute of the German Economy, German companies were unable to find trainees for a good 63,000 positions in 2021. By 2030, around five million people will retire. The German economy is therefore facing one of the greatest challenges in its history.
Every missing skilled worker costs the company, and thus Germany as a whole, hard cash. A study published by the Boston Consulting Group states that Germany loses around 86 billion euros in economic output every year. Due to low birth rates and a high number of retirees, this problem will be exacerbated in the coming years.
Companies can counteract this development by also looking abroad for potential skilled workers and convincing them to immigrate to Germany. The legal framework conditions for this are being relaxed more and more. For example, the accelerated skilled worker procedure has been introduced, which has simplified the process of issuing a visa for a skilled worker by digitizing many processes and establishing a foreigners authority specifically responsible for this procedure. Furthermore, the German government is currently planning to pass a new law on the immigration of skilled workers, which is expected to come into force in 2023, in order to make it even easier and faster to recruit foreign skilled workers for the German economy.
As a service provider for recruitment, avitea has also specialized in addressing and recruiting talent abroad. Through an intensive analysis of the recruiting countries as well as our expertise in the selection of suitable candidates, avitea is the right contact for companies that want to find international applicants.
However, not only professional and legal framework conditions play a major role in the recruitment of specialists abroad. Immigration and cultural integration are also crucial factors for success. Only people who feel comfortable in their environment can make a valuable contribution to their job and to society. Therefore avitea also pays special attention to the time after immigration.
Finding an apartment, going to the registration office and other authorities or finding the right language course can be a challenge for the new professional and the company. For this reason, avitea develops an individual integration concept for each new employee from abroad to enable the best possible integration and maximize the benefits for all sides.
